The Eufy 11S is one of the most affordable self-emptying robotic vacuums on the market. In our tests it was able to clean up dry oats on hard floors and low pile carpeting. Its dust bin is simple to empty and open -much easier than some other models in the same price range.

It recharges at the base and then cleans when it's ready. But its obstacle-avoidance system gets tangled up in cords and socks, and it can't go under low thresholds.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is a more affordable self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that many users seem to enjoy. It's great for scooting under furniture and seems to be a good choice for Best Self-emptying vacuum people with hard floors or those who want to do light daily cleans. The suction might be less powerful than our top picks, but it gets the job done. It comes with a huge dust bin and a long-lasting battery. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning or choose a specific room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which can assist in avoiding areas you don't want to go to.

The app is simple to use and has a clear layout. It's not a full-featured app, but it is easy to use and lets you monitor your robot's status. It comes with a tutorial that will guide you through the basics.

Its cleaning pattern doesn't always appear logical - sometimes it goes in straight lines, other times it seeks out the edges of the room - but Bounce Navigation ensures your entire floor gets cleaned. We think that there are better robot vacuums available than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba is much easier to maintain and has lower costs for recurring maintenance and charges more quickly. It also has a larger dustbin and performs better on all surfaces and is able to climb over low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The RoboVac 11S from Eufy is another alternative for regular vacuuming. It shares a similar design to our top choice and is great in removing small particles and fine dust from hard floors. It also does a decent job on medium and low-pile carpet. Similar to the Roomba by iRobot Roomba, it has a very large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It comes with a simple remote control, and it is possible to schedule daily cleanings using the app. The battery can last for about an hour, and the dustbin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an excellent robot vacuum and mop, with a wide range of automation features. The Roborock S7 MaxV comes in three different versions: the basic S7 model as well as the S7 Plus model and the S7 Ultra. The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi and allows you to monitor it via the Shark app and view its battery status as it cleans. The app allows you to program a cleaning routine and receive push notifications about its current status, pause cleaning and resume cleaning or set it for only one area. It can also be controlled using voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will show you what the current power mode is such as Eco, Maximum, Normal, but we found that none of these modes produced an obvious difference in cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the trash bin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, which will self-empty. Its bin holds up to 60 days of waste, so it won't need emptying more frequently than that, unless you have many pets with long hair. If you have to empty it, all you have to do is detach the side bin, place it over a trash container and then press a button to empty its contents.

The Shark IQ XL is a great vacuum cleaner. It does a decent job cleaning floors that are not bare and can maneuver itself well. However, the Shark IQ XL feels a bit less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It does a good job of cleaning carpeted floors however, it isn't as efficient as the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to the performance of bare floors. The i7 is also more robust, feels more durable and robust, has lower maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, charges faster, while offering similar battery performance and much more advanced automation features like no-go zones and the ability to choose specific rooms for a clean.

iRobot j7+

This robot vac/mop combination is a rare find, because it can do both tasks exceptionally efficiently. IRobot's Combo J7+ comes with all the advantages of its j7 counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping however, it also comes with additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ identify the types of flooring, so it can choose between vacuuming and mopping during the first time it passes through a room. It also utilizes this information to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpet and rugs over those with hard floors.

The J7+ is more quiet than most robotic vacuums when running and is even quieter when it's mopping. The maximum reading of 64 decibels on our decibel meter is similar to office chatter.

It is easy to set up a cleaning schedule and change what happens when the dust canister gets full. The j7+ can be controlled with voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) The app lets you create and view maps in your home.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ performed admirably on both hard and carpeted floors, and it cleaned up most of the dirt we tossed at it. It has a difficult time dealing with pet hair, large particles and sand. However, it is able to clean them with a little more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that keep it from falling down stairs or becoming caught on furniture legs.

We did notice a few minor niggles with the j7+, mostly that it can snag on cords and carpets, and it doesn't always shut off its mopping when it's done vacuuming. Otherwise, this is an excellent model that checks all the right boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the top auto-emptying systems we've ever tried. It drops its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, and it automatically empties for you. This will reduce the amount of trash that you must dispose of. You'll only need to replace the bag on the dock every 60 days, based on how frequently you use the J7+.
